SLEEPWALK WITH ME

Written by Mike Birbiglia
Directed by Seth Barrish

Synopsis: In Sleepwalk With Me, Mike Birbiglia takes the audience on a hysterically funny and intensely personal journey through stories of his life and bouts with sleepwalking. As he finally confronts his fears of love, honesty and growing up, we see that some people's problems will work themselves out with a nice long walk-- but not Mike's.

NEW YORK TIMES:
"An 85-minute monologue lives or dies on the pacing. It’s easy to peak too early or drown in detail or lose your audience in a dead spot or a poorly structured story. Mike Birbiglia’s pacing is simply perfect in “Sleepwalk With Me,” his funny, appealing one-man show at the Bleecker Street Theater. "

THEATERMANIA:
"It's an 80-minute grinathon that is delivered with the sunniest good humor, under Seth Barrish's unprepossessing direction. "

VARIETY:
"...while his solo show, "Sleepwalk With Me," may be a little lightweight as drama, his consistently engaging digressions keep the aud laughing at problems that probably wouldn't be all that amusing outside the theater. "

BACKSTAGE:
"Working under the sure hand of director Seth Barrish on a reflective blue set from Beowulf Borritt — the reason for a strange cutout door becomes apparent — Birbiglia delivers his piece with some choice physical gags, winning not only laughs but also hearts. "

TIME OUT NY:
"Mike Birbiglia’s autobiographical solo show, Sleepwalk with Me, mines his severe sleeping disorder for humor and—when the self-deprecating funnyman sticks to his main subject—his anecdotes are so hilarious and horrifying they just may keep you up at night. "
